Cookie Mix Recipe

(Makes approximately 12 cookies, depending on cutter size)

If your cookie mix is in  a clear bag and not a foil package, please contact our office. The recipe will be different.

Included:
1 package sugar cookie mix

You will need:
3 T softened butter
2 T water
vegetable oil cooking spray

Directions:

In medium mixing bowl, place the butter and quickly whip it by hand with a fork until it is light and fluffy. Add the cookie mix and thoroughly work in the butter with the fork until the dough is crumbly in appearance. Add the water to form the mixture into a dough. Knead the dough by hand in the bowl until the dough sticks together.* Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour. Cooling the dough will make it easier to roll out and to cut shapes.

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

On a lightly floured (preferably cool, like marble) surface, press the dough flat and then roll it out. Using a rolling pin, place the pin in the center of the dough and roll in one direction only to the edge of the dough. Pick up the rolling pin, place it back in the center and roll again, continuing all around the dough. When the dough is about 1/4Ó thick, take the sharp edge of your cookie cutter and press it into the dough. Slightly turn the cutter back and forth to make a clean cut. With a small spatula or with your hands, gently lift the shape and place it on a lightly oiled cookie sheet. Once you have cut out all of the cookies you can, roll up the remaining dough into a ball, press out and roll it again to cut out more shapes. Continue this process until all the dough is used. You may have to refrigerate the dough again to make it easily roll out and cut.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Allow to cool and then add cookie decorations. Best of all, eat them all up!

*If dough is still crumbly, add a little more water.
